FandomīioShock instantly became a favorite among the System Shock fans, and there are currently several Facebook pages dedicated to the BioShock series. The games are generally praised for their remarkable aesthetics and deeply immersive settings that focuses heavily on philosophical socio-political commentaries. Bioshock Infinite received a 94/100, 9/10, and 9.5/10 from Metacritic, Gamespot, and IGN respectively. The game is set in 1912, though the Vigors, created by one of the villians, Jeremiah Fink before the discovery of ADAM, the source of Plasmids, which happened several decades after Columbia's founding. In the third installment of the series, BioShock Infinite, takes place in an another fictional city named Columbia, which is the opposite of Rapture with the fact that it's a floating city in the sky. In both games the player uses a special items called Plasmids to gain superhuman-like powers like Telekinesis or Pyrokinesis. The second is in 1968, eight years after the fall of Rapture, though this time the player assumes the role of Subject Delta, an Alpha series Big Daddy. In the first game the protagonist is named Jack, and the game takes place in 1960, one year after a civil war broke out. In the first two games of the series the player is exploring a fictional underwater city Rapture. Although it's DLCs, Burial at Sea – Episode 1 and Episode 2 returns to the series' roots, in both setting and art style but featuring the duo of Booker Dewitt and Elizabeth. While the lattest installment, the Infinite's art style is Steampunk. The first game's art style is a mixture of Dieselpunk a derivative of Cyberpunk and Art Deco. The game itself is considered to be the spiritual successor to System Shock. The first BioShock game (BioShock) was released on August 21, 2007, directed by Ken Levine, and it has gained positive reviews from the critics. ![]()
